PRESS: Gazprom to gasify Kamchatka at loss of 1,500 bln rbl/yr

MOSCOW, Oct 21 (PRIME) -- Russian gas giant Gazprom will take most of the social burden of the Kamchatka Peninsula gasification by delivering gas from a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal of Novatek at an estimated loss of 1,000–1,500 billion rubles per year, business daily Kommersant reported on Wednesday, citing sources with knowledge of the discussion details.

Gazprom will build the infrastructure from Novatek's regasifying terminal to the local power plants and the key customers. Novatek will launch the terminal for transshipment in February 2023 and will eventually start to sell LNG to Gazprom at the export netback price.

Gazprom will resell gas to power producer RusHydro at the current regional tariff of 6,198 rubles per 1,000 cubic meters.
